What’s is CHANDRAYAAN?
CHANDRAYAAN is a moon mission launched by ISRO (INDIAN SPACE
RESEARCH ORGANISATION). ISRO launched its first moon mission in the form of CHANDRAYAAN-1.
The word CHANDRAYAAN is derived from Sanskrit and Hindi word, ‘CHANDRA’ which
means moon and ‘YAAN’ which means vehicle.
India’s first moon mission foundation was of Rs.386 crore. This
mission was very important for India as this mission has provided basic and
technical structure to upcoming universal
mission and events.
What supervisor says about CHANDRAYAAN?
CHANDRAYAAN-1 was designed under the supervision of M.
Annadurai . They told that it is very difficult to establish the sanchar
(connection) through satellite. They also told that the distance between moon
and earth is 3 lakh 86 thousand kilometer which is quite far. It is 10 times
far from the connection of satellite. Therefore, to transmit and receive the
signals ISRO had developed some advanced gadgets.
Annadurai announced that the person who were tracking the
activity of CHANDRAYAAN-1 were not able to see it but still the mission was
completed successfully without seeing it. During the mars mission it helped us.
On 22 october,2008 the CHANDRAYAAN-1 was sent to the orbit
of the moon with the help of Rocket Polar
Satellite vehicle. CHANDRAYAAN-1 almost weight upyo-1,380 kg. It
revolves 3,400 times around the moon, it was in working condition for 312days but
later it was damaged due to the heat of star sensor.
CHANDRAYAAN-1 had
carried only 11 payload .In this 5 were of India and 6 were of other foreign countries.
From which 3 was of European Space agency, two were of America and 1 of Billgaria
Academy of Science age. CHANDRAYAAN-1 had discovered the water on the moon
which had never been seen by any of other space agencies. It also discovered Ice
on the Northern part of the moon. Aluminum, magnesium and silicon was also
founded by CHANDRAYAAN-1. Such image of moon had never been seen by any one before.
This mission was really the biggest
achievement by India and ISRO.
What is CHANDRAYAAN- 02?
Chandrayaan-2
is an Indian lunar mission to explore the unchartered south pole of the
celestial body by landing a rover.
On September 7,
India attempted to make a soft landing on to the lunar surface.
However, lander
Vikram missed the primary landing site and went for the second. The visuals
went missing henceforth.
According to
Isro chief K Sivan, communication from Vikram lander was lost and data is still
being analysed.
If India does
succeed, it will be the fourth country to land on the moon, after the erstwhile
USSR, US and China, to cement its place among the world's space-faring nations.
India's
Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle, GSLV MkIII-M1 had successfully
launched the 3,840-kg Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft into the earth's orbit on July
22.
Chandrayaan-2
satellite had begun its journey towards the moon leaving the earth's orbit in
the dark hours on August 14, after a crucial maneuver called Trans Lunar
Insertion (TLI) that was carried out by Isro to place the spacecraft on
"Lunar Transfer Trajectory".
In a major
milestone for India's second Moon mission, the Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft had
successfully entered the lunar orbit on August 20 by performing Lunar Orbit
Insertion (LOI) maneuver. On August 22, Isro released the first image of the
moon captured by Chandrayaan-2. On September 2, 'Vikram' successfully separated
from the orbiter, following which two de-orbiting manoeuvres were performed to
bring the lander closer to the Moon.
'Vikram' and 'Pragyan'
As India
attempted a soft landing on the lunar surface on September 7, all eyes were on
the lander 'Vikram' and rover 'Pragyan'.
The 1,471-kg
'Vikram', named after Vikram Sarabhai father of the Indian space programme, was
designed to execute a soft landing on the lunar surface, and to function for
one lunar day, which is equivalent to about 14 earth days.
Chandrayaan-2's
27-kg robotic vehicle 'Pragyan', which translates to 'wisdom' in Sanskrit, can
travel up to 500 metres from the landing spot on the moon and leverages solar
energy for its functioning.
If successful,
Pragyaan will roll out from inside the lander to carry out an intense probe of
the moon soil with its two payloads.
Chandrayaan,
which means “moon vehicle” in Sanskrit, exemplifies the resurgence of
international interest in space. The US, China and private corporations are
among those racing to explore everything from resource mining to
extraterrestrial colonies on the moon and even Mars.
Isro's future
plans
Isro’s next
priority is the $1.4 billion Gaganyaan mission, which aims to put three
Indian “gaganauts” — at least one of which will be a woman — into orbit.
What NASA says about CHANDRAYAAN-2?
However the mission 2nd
of moon has been failed which was named as CHANDRAYAAN-02. But still all the
world is praising our ISRO, NASA UAI and other big space agencies are praising
the hard work and dedication of ISRO.
Such big agency had not only praised
CHANDRAYAAN-02 mission but also said that is idle for us. Even NASA had showed his
feeling to work with ISRO in future.
Space agency of United Arab Amirat
had also praised the work of ISRO and titled INDIA as “The MAIN PLAYER OF STEP
SECTOR.”
Your Mission Our Inspiration- NASA
NASA had twitted that Space is not
easy to research. We really praise the work of ISRO of landing the spacecraft in
the southern part of the moon. You have inspired us with your work and we hope
that we will work together in future.
Was there any person in that aircraft?
There are really a lot of questions
related to chandryaan-02 and on the most asked question is that was there any
person inside that spacecraft? So to answer this question I am here, and the
answer is no there was no person inside the spacecraft.
Guys, the name Vikram and Pragyaan
are human but this were not the person who went with the spacecraft. Actually this
name has been given to parts of the spacecraft in honor of Great scienctist.
Hope you have understood what I wanted
to convey in this article. I have tried to give you every basic information
about the Chandrayaan -1 and Chandrayaan-2 . Hope you will understand.
